For new group who would like to fish with us at november 2010, we may have some days available, we will fishing at Alor, Sumbawa, Komodo, Maumere for the trophy fishes.

We have booked one week at January 2011, though December is also good month for fishing, the early weeks is good.
There stil many options to enjoy the game fishing of Indonesia waters. We can customize the days t your time schedule available in between your holiday, we will cater and detailed every aspects to your fit and need.

For target Fisherman, we should discuss abit more on the target and the species, If its feasible we will say yes -we will take you there and chase the target, if not, we will strickly say no.

For those who targeting shark, we dont do shark fishing ( this question has been asked to us many times).

The april has one trip that hasnt been so good, we have only catch a small tiny fish on jigging. that is the only day in this year we have no fish to bring. Thats the only trip we fish with no good result. and i tend to keep it that way.

The april has various results of 3 fish to 4 fish, mostly average of 10 kg to 13 kg. seems lke the number of catch has dropped compared to months before. May starting the heavy rain and choppy sea. with the un predicted weather, the fishing result also unpredictable, but still we have blesssed to bring back fishes for our customer.

During the may season, we have several dogtooth tuna bites, which – as usual – none of our customer has landed even a single dogtooth tuna hooked on the jig. well… we just need to keep fishing and try again.

Though what preparation and all the technich we do on fishing, its always need a bit of luck added on top

NEED HELPS. STOLEN BOAT in Sumbawa – Indonesia, Kapal hilang dicuri di sumbawa

Stolen Boat made of Aluminium boat, white colored, 20 feet in length, along with its twin 25HP YAMAHA enduro 2 strokes outboard engine installed on the stern. It has distinctive marks, it has 2 fiber glass outrigger poles, the starboard side outrigger has repair fixed – has jointed marks on it, the port side was broken because of fishing last week, it also has two rotatable rod holder in both boat sides, the stolen boat has custom made tarpaulin shades.

The boat has no name on it, it is a Fisherman Boat 20D DYNAGLASS made in Singapore.

Baru saja menerima informasi dari teman baik saya di sumbawa, bahwa kapalnya telah dicuri 2 malam lalu, 27 Maret 2010, kapal dicuri dari posisi mooringnya di depan hotel tempat dia tinggal di daerah NTB sumbawa tepatnya di selat alas antara bali dan lombok.

Kapal terbuat dari aluminium & Fiberglass interior wall, warna putih, panjang 20 Feet, dan 2 buah mesin YAHAMA enduro 25PK terpasang di buritan. Kapal yang dicuri tersebut mempunyai ciri khas, 2 buah fiberglass outrigger poles, yang sebelah kanan / starboard side pernah patah dan disambung, yang sebelah kiri/port side, masih patah karena ditarik ikan minggu lalu. Kapal hilang ini mempunyai 2 buah rod holder yang bisa berputar di sisi kiri dan kanan, kapal hilang ini mempunyai teras yang terbuat dari terpal.

Kapal ini tidak diberi nama, merknya FISHERMAN 20DX DYNAGLASS Singapore, Foto terlampir.

on 26-30 knots cruising speed we reach the area within an hour. The client today is keen fisherman who was fishing with us also last month. He is curiously and addicted to get dogtooth tuna fishing and for sure fishing for bigger ruby snapper.

At the spots,
the current still strong at 3,9 knots average, but minutes lates it dropped to 3 knots, and then 2 knots and average 1 knots to 2 knots.

First bite was dogtooth tuna, the hook up and position of the anglers wasnt benefited to fight fast, then the dogtooth tuna ran into hiding , one jig and line break !!

another 5 more bites resulted in line breaks, lost 6 metal jigs already !

And at the depth of 112 meters, the jig was lowered down, 1 – 2 -3 cranks, and then lstrike, the line was peeled of the shimano stella 10.000SW reel, it gotta be ruby snapper! after several minutes, the fish start surfaced, its a 11 kilos nice good looking ruby snapper landed !

we then cruised to the secluded beach for a short swimmming while freshing up snorkeling. 4 set snorkle was passed and they were snorkling.

then we back to the spots for another more fish, so far we only got one ruby snapper and one small grouper that weight less than the metal jig itself!

4 rods lfishing, at the depth of 135 meters, one rod the jigrex rods, bent down, reel screaming, this is monster fish !! its a monsterous dogtooth tuna seems from the way it run. On the 15 kilos drag, with 65 lbs main line and 120 lbs leader, the line keep spooled off the reel. Its hard just to hold the reel in that five minutes. then it stop running, we managed to crank in about 10 spins, then run again, even the boat is chasing the line too, not long the whole 300 yards line came to the end, and it break at completely spilled 300 yards !!

ok, so we’re lost 8 jigs so far, now we need one more fish before we head back.
its now at 110 meters, lowered down the metal; jig, and 3 cranks, we gota abiote of a ruby snapper, nicely landed and bigger than the first one.

we agreed to call it a day, and head back to port.

Great fight today !

Went out fishing with Mr. Cooper this morning
We went out for jigging dogtooth tuna dn ruby snappers for the whole day.
Its a day to go to bali NYEPI day or bali silence day, so we will have to return before all the ‘Ogoh Ogoh’ statute to be parade at the road to avoid traffic jam.

While waiting driver pick up from Sentosa Villa arriving at the jetty to aboard mr. Cooper to our Tiger catamaran boat, I was waiting in our office terrace and look at the sea, seems today will be a good fishing day, i saw the small bait fish like few meters from the shore line jumping out of the water chased by a small barracuda, seems like the current isn’t as strong as usual. perhaps like 1-2 knots current.

Arriving at the jetty we then soon aboard the boat, explaining where the emergency device – procedure and where we headed. we cruised to the spots on 26 knots average, a fifty minutes to go.

Arriving at the spot, i was a bit surprised, looking at the tide chart at my watch, but the surface looks so calm and friendly, Ok  seems like we will be getting fish today.

while deckies setting up the fishing gear, i explained how to jig in the depth of 120 meters with 500 grams metal jig. its heavy allright.

All ready and sounder showed 118 meters, its a one third of spool, i mentioned.

we lowered down all jig and start doing slow jigging and get them used to find the jigging rhytim. Then…

First strike.
First bite, line peeled off the spool at the first run, taking almost 50 meters on the 10 kilos drag setting, few minutes later, this beautiful creatures shown on the surface. a Nine kilos ruby snapper, and photo session

Second reel has another bite, its a tiny one, yes its a grouper, like half jkilo grouper bite the half kilo metal jig.

Then few attempts later, we got a dogtooth tuna bite, this time reel was screaming !! like unstoppable fish, its on shallow 80 meters water, but after doing all the hard work, line break and lost one jig.

Move to the previous spots, now we have a bite from dogtooth again !! Mr. Cooper determine to finish it this time, almost an hour he was fighting the fish and fish not yet surrender !! last minute, just about 60 meters away, the fish hid into the reef, make it harder to beat, then we decided to hard pull the fish, we did that and then we managed to save the jig but lost the fish, got a big scratch on the metal jig of the bite.

Swimming & Lunch.
It was almost 1 pm, we decided to have a lunch at the secluded beach and swimming, it is a hot sunny day today. i can smell my skin burn like well-done steak !!
Snorkles out, fins outs, googles out, we swim to cooled down. we can see the barracuda chasing the bait fish, and dive to the good coral underneath on the 6 meters crystal clear pristine waters.

Lunch then beers, bintang beers.

The Fish Market
We get back to the spot while the tide is just right, re check all the gear and we’re good to go. This is when everything started.

Triple double strikes!
Lowered down 3 set of jig and then 2 of them got bite !!
First one landed then 2nd one landed, a 12 kilos average both on scale.

Then again, after a short beer break, every time we lowered the jig to the bottom, hit the bottom, not so long we got double bites!! Twice double bite.
This second double bite, one first one landed spitted the hook on the ssurface we tried to get it, but lost it. but the 2nd fish still on!
Second fish landed sweetly a nice 12 kilo ruby snapper/red snapper.

we stop a bit and decided, one more run before we head back to main island.
One more run, starts at 124 meters depth, sounder shown a fish market down there. I grab the Shimano stella 10.000SW with 65lbs Tuffline braid and a flourocarbon 120lbs lkeader line, connecter to a 200lbs swivel, assist jig on Varivas kevlar 600lbs, and #11 Mustad single hook. When the 500 grams jig reach bottom, i did not even had chance to play the lure, the fish bite !! i set the hook twice, set up properly!! then the fish start showing off her power, it runs like hell !! tried to stand up sturdy, it still run the like, i loosen the drag a bit soi it give me a good stand before fight the fish, when the fiosh stop its first run, we moved the rod to the starboard side of boat that the line taken under the hull, from the port side to the starboard side.

Hand over the set, and guest start to fight the fish, when fighting the fish second bite on the other reel, seems like a small one, i was thingking a 2 kilo snapper, but it was reeled in quickly and its a half kilo grouper eating half kilo jig !! Again !!
The ruby was landed and kit was 12.5 kilos in weight. Good catch.

We call it a day and head back to port.

… and we understand that anytime we landed that beautiful creatures, we will not waste live we took of them, we will cherish the gifts …

Total today we have 9 Ruby Snapper and 2 small groupers, and we understand that anytime we landed that beautiful creatures, we will not waste live we took of them, we will use them as our bbq dinner, to accompany tomorrow, the Bali silence day. It is a good day, a fun day, and a record breaking day, the most the guest caught by their own since January 2010. But still, there is none of our clients ever succed to land a dogtooth tuna, well they are just there waiting, so come on get them (landed)

Take example at jigging, jigging in bali using a minimum 400 grams metal jig to 700 grams metal jig, to some more extreme  current, we are using 1 kilograms metal jig.
After we lowered down the lure to the sea bottom, we play jerk and retrieve motion for 20 spins of reel and lowered it down again and again, its not easy and its definitely a hard work exercise. doing that over and over again will surely train for your muscle and body. On the casting/popping sports fishing, we cast hundreds times a day before we may can get one spectacular strike to the lure of the monster fish, when everything turn into slow motion, when we heard nothing than the blood pulse, we seems to be able to see details of the fish splashing water surface striking our popper.

That’s just a start. When you got a bite, what you have to do first is hold the tackle set tight, i mean very tight, do not let it go.
On the set of 80 pound class, we set the drag to 20 – 30 pounds drag, meaning that you will hold the amount of drag similar to 30 pound weight, all the momentum will be hold in your leg, arms, shoulder, it train your muscle well.
Then, you will have to landed the fish, pulling/lift up the rod, and when you lower the rod in the same time you must reel in the line, until the fish on board, it take 5 minutes to hours depend on the fish size strength and species.

Addicting yet ego-friendly sports, admit it.
Sports fishing its an ego-friendly sports,  say you managed to land a 10 kilograms fish, then again you want to beat your own personal record with bigger fish. Then after that you will want to catch other species fish, then when you think you satisfy enough to your own personal record, a friend of yours telling you taht he caught a bigger fish, you readt the internet that in the same area there is bigger catch than yours.

Your adrenalin will be pumped in your vein, telling your brain to beat them, telling your brain to fantasize that you caught bigger fish, until no one can beat your own personal record.

As to any other sports, one willing to beat other person to be the best- biggest-higher-0faster record making.
It is very much indeed ego-friendly hobby and sports. You will never get enough, because the sea and the ocean offer unlimited possibilities, unlimited various of marine adventures, unlimited weight of fish or any sea creatures you can caught and maybe succeed to land on board.

You cant just get enough of it.
It is a sports yet addicting and ego-friendly sport, admit it !

At that day, all activities should be paused, airport closed, electricy must be shut down, we will be in total darkness, and no one allowed to go out, no TV, no sound, no un necessary lights.

No one allowed to go out .. That mean no POLLUTION !! hurrayyyy …
this is the most day i loved in entire year, i can enjoy a day without any sound pollutions of motors, only natural sky lights, no sonic boom of an airplane, it will be awesome.

For some people its a torture, they are panic to arrange a short getaway trip out of the island for the entire Nyepi day ( silent day) but not me, i loved to enjoy every darkness, every silence, every unpolluted air i breath. why would i left bali for the most extraordinary event that can only be happened in bali? One day wont hurt without any modern life business, just me and my lovely family, playing with kid all day, teach my kid to thank what a modern world can give us and what a modern world harm us.

Its a no pollution day. its a family day in silence of modern world.

i wish if every region or district or country all over the globe can do this for one day, how many coals use in power plan  that polluted our world we can reduce, how many nuclear waste we can reduce, how many petrol and fuel we save that day.

The Nyepi day should teach us to value the limited energy resources we had left, to teach us for being grateful for what God’s gifts to us to maintain our energy-waste modern world life style. The global warming will not come this soon  if we have the awareness of using our energy as much as we need and as efficient as we can, not using it as much as we can.

we at Indonesia, can’t use as much as energy as we want, not because its not provided, we always count every single cent to pay the energy bill, we dont drive big monster car that other country drive since hundreds years ago, just because most of us SIMPLY CANT AFFORD IT !! We dont much thrash goods or electronic that broken before  try to repair it, its simply because most of us cant afford it !

what if the citizen of the world, despite they have  buying ability, do the same, repair it before throwing it, use energy as we need enough, use energy saver car and transportation, being humble and simple. less energy bill less world pollution problems we had.

Use energy as much as you need, not as much as you greed,
we dont own the furture world by our self,
our kids will inherit the pollutions and problems we left behind.

We went out this morning with mr Garry & Ian.
meet them at their villas this morning 7:30 at seminyak, the high tide will be at 11:00 am, so today we may have been lucky getting some fish.

Driving to the jetty for about 20 minutes, then check all gears, all aboard, and we cruised to the spot at 28-32 knots speed on our game fishing boat powered by twin 200HP yamaha engine.

the current is fast !! top current drifted our boat to trhe speed of 4.9 knots when we arrive, man !! this may not fishable yet !! we keep trying though. First and second bite only cut our line, we think its a barracuda and the dogtooth.

The first run, ain’t got any bite, we headed back to the Ruby snapper fishing spots, we know they are there !! fish can run but they will not bear temptation of our lures !!

after 15 minutes exercise on our floating gym, the first fish up. NOT A GAME FISH, it weight less than our 500 grams metal jig lure !! Garry land it and release it to fish another day. wise !!

We make turn to the spots again, this time captain John ( that is me ) has marked where the current drifting the boat.
Captain John signal everyone, ok start fishing. Capt John confidence that it will has stikes now, the current has down to 2,9 – 3,2 knots, then he yelled, on the spots now …

125 meters deep,  then 101 meters then strike !!!
Garry on it !! fish on !! fish on !! this run very strong and fast, i thought it was what we looking for, the mighty dogttoth tuna !! it was NOT ! hahahaa ahahhaa … it might be a ruby snapper – that beatiful fish.

then,
not even 2 minutes, second strike, now Ian on it !! this fish pulled our 80 pounds line hard, super confidencely both anglers fighting the fishes.

Then first one landed, a nice ruby at around 9 kilos in weight. the 2nd come up that Ian brought up, its the biggest ruby snapper the last 2 months, or i say this 2010 year. a nice good eating 14-15 kilos ruby snapper !! salute !!

The first one that Garry landed hooked at the eyes, so it was harder to land and fight more stronger.

Both fishes landed, both anglers exhausted

so then after a short break, we make another run, soon after we start jigging at 100 meters, Ian is the lucky person, alnding a nice 11.5 kilos ruby snapper, the 2nd he landed within an hour.
Now, its time for BINTANG beers celebration ) a short break with Bintang beer,
Garry asked me,” Are we going to fish again or we headed back” i was surprised, this gentlemen understand the meaning of enough ( i salute you Sir Garry & Sir Ian).

I looked at the watch, it still early, we have plenty time to fish, the i decided, “lets do one more run and cruise back ”

we make another run then try to fish for 10 minutes, then we all headed back, arriving at the jetty even before 12 noon. so early. we cleaned up the ruby snapper, as both gentlemen anglers only want to bring one, because its enough to BBQ tonight – i insist them to bring the biggest or all of them, because de facto and de jure those are theirs.

Then after a bit ‘negotiation’, they finally agree to bring the medium one because it will be enough for all at the villa that they will have party toinight ( i salute you two gentlemen once again).

Today’s is the biggest ruby on jigging this year that our client got, its a good karma for good hearts anglers!
They deserved it. Not many asked us to return early because has enough catches. My respect to these gentlemen.

I look forward to have another opportunity to go out fishing with you guys again. This is a great and fun day.

Left aboutr 8:30 morning from, the port and rushed to the ruby snappers’ home. All lure down and in about 10 minutes, bite on, Fish on !! Mr. Yves is the one was fight the fish, not even 10 minutes the fish landed, a nice 9 kilos ruby snappers.

Mr Yves and us  had several bite that un hooked properly, missed calls we name it. then the current getting strong, our 500grams jig cant reach the bottom so then we moved in between spots, there is only one Dogtooth tuna bite that cut the line off. then No more bite. we return to port at 13:00
